About your vial

What you are holding

A screw-cap vial of fountain pen ink, 1, 2 or 4 ml, decanted by hand from a sealed bottle bought new from the maker or their distributor. Nothing is diluted, mixed or topped up from another bottle. The sticker carries the ink’s full name, the volume, the month it was filled and our reference number; quote that reference and we can tell you which bottle it came out of.

Every vial is filled after you order it. Nothing is decanted in advance and left waiting on a shelf, so the ink in the envelope is as fresh as the bottle it came out of that morning. Each ink is drawn with its own single-use syringe, on a wiped bench, so nothing from one ink reaches another.

Keep it upright, cool and dark

Store the vial standing up, capped tight, out of sunlight and away from heat, and use it within three months. Plastic is not the glass bottle the maker formulated the ink for: over months a vial loses a little water to the air, which leaves the ink darker and thicker than it started, and some inks shift colour slightly on top of that. Three months is our own margin, not the maker’s.

Before you fill a pen

Shake a shimmer vial first, and give shimmer, high-sheen, iron gall, permanent and heavily pigmented inks a pen you are willing to wash often. The same ink behaves differently in two pens. Anything we know about a particular ink is on its page on this site.

Ink is not food. It stains skin, wood, cloth and paper, and it does not come out of most of them. Keep vials away from children and pets, and away from your good shirt.

What we stand behind

That the vial reached you intact, correctly labelled, and holding the ink named on it. Tell us within seven days of delivery if it did not.

We make neither the ink nor the vial. An ink is a chemistry its maker built for a factory-sealed glass bottle, and a screw-cap plastic vial is not that bottle, so we take no responsibility for evaporation, a colour shift, or ink that writes differently from the bottle it was poured out of. Nor are we liable for a clogged feed, a stained converter, or damage to a pen, a desk or anything else the ink reaches. Whose ink this is

Diamine, Dominant Industry, KWZ, Noodler's, Pilot and Sailor and every other maker named on this site own their names and their inks. the ink-credible store decants and resells independently: not affiliated with them, not authorised by them, not endorsed by them.

Something wrong with it

A leaked, damaged or wrong vial is replaced when you send the unboxing video with your claim, on WhatsApp at +919270539459. An opened vial cannot be returned. Both are set out on the returns page.

A vial of 10 ml or less sits outside most of the Legal Metrology (Packaged Commodities) Rules, 2011, which is why a sample can carry a sticker this small. We print the declarations anyway, here where there is room for them. Indian law governs any order, and the courts of India hear any dispute.
