What KWZ says about the Iron Gall line

KWZ says

  • Iron gall rather than dye alone, so the writing sinks into the paper's structure instead of sitting on it
  • Waterproof and stable once it has bitten into the sheet
  • A true solution, with no suspended solids
  • Made without strong mineral acids
  • Darkens over the days after it is written

Worth knowing

KWZ says iron gall inks ask more care than a standard ink, particularly in a steel nib: rinse the pen more often and do not leave the ink sitting in it.

Who decanted it
Decanted by hand from a sealed KWZ bottle into a screw-cap plastic vial, not sold to us by KWZ: the name and the ink are theirs, the decanting is ours, and there is no affiliation or endorsement either way.
How to keep it
Every vial is decanted fresh, after you order it, so the clock starts with you. Ink left in a vial for months can evaporate or shift a little, so use it within three months and keep it capped.
What we promise
That it reaches you intact, correctly labelled and holding the ink on the sticker. If it does not, tell us and we will replace it. Everything we can and cannot answer for is on the disclaimer page.
